'I am a maker, what I make reflects my perceptions of and confusions about the world, the people in it, the politics, the psychology, the philosophy, and the seemingly existential predisposition to violence.
The polythene jewellery was developed whilst studying at Middlesex for my BA, I was/am very concerned about the environment. Using recycled polythene was my response to this concern.
In an attempt to understand humanities tendency to meanness and cruelty I 'murdered' some soft toys, or transitional objects as I later came to know them, mainly because my initial response to that idea was 'you can't do that'. Deconstructing a cuddly bear was so counter intuitive to my nature I had to explore it further. The Lovingly Murdered collection evolved from this exploration. This research has only just begun.'
