Bonita Ahuja makes luxurious hand woven textiles using only natural fibres such as silk and cashmere, often with embroidered elements. Bonita also incorporates sequins or metallic thread between layers which move with the wearer reflecting light in different ways. Bonita takes inspiration from objects, people and environments that project natural and unconscious beauty. In a paradox of sorts, she looks for irregularities and flaws on the one hand and how they come together to create a sense of balance and harmony on the other.
