Mary Sumner's paintings capture the countryside with fresh fluidity and intensely beautiful contrasting colours. She works in acrylics; gardens, birds and wildlife are all recurring themes. Ceramic animal and bird sculpture by Susan O'Byrne, an Irish born artist who lives and works in Glasgow.

They say you can judge a gallery (read: artist) by their worst piece. If that were the case then what would that say about Leigh Davis? Given that this forthcoming show has nothing but the sublime and the superb.

I think it is great to see such high quality works being offered at a price that is affordable. I purchased one of Robert's oils of avocets at Rye recently to add to a collection of the woodcut prints and look forward to seeing the exhibition next week in Holt.
