Hilke MacIntyre: Hilke MacIntyre was born in Germany. She originally studied architecture in Kiel, Germany, but since 1996 has lived in Scotland working as an artist. “I paint, print linocuts and make ceramic reliefs in a simplified figurative style. Particular influences are primitive art and the art of the early 20th century, so I enjoy the direct visual pleasure of composing shapes, colours and patterns. My pictures are simply of what I see around me.”
