Ruth Wood graduated in June 2006 from The School of Jewellery in Birmingham with a degree in Jewellery Design & Silversmithing. She was then selected for Bishopland, A one year stepping stone for Jewellery/Silversmithing graduates to help them set up in business whilst sharing a studio in South Oxfordshire. Ruth now works from her studio in Leicestershire.
Ruth's work is inspired by ancient artefacts and treasures and irregular and eroded rock formations within caves. In her Cave collection she creates timeless contemporary jewellery which combines abstract metal forms with unique set stones which look as though they have been pulled from the ground. The collection is made from silver, gilt and 18ct gols with gemstones and diamonds.
