David Binns creates Sculptural ceramics using Porcelain and kiln cast waste glass and mineral aggregates.
David's striking work draws inspiration from a variety of identifiable but disparate sources including architectural and engineering form and qualities found in rock formation and geological structure.
He strives to produce work that has visual richness, whilst conveying a sense of quietness and apparent simplicity - the exclusion of the inessential. David also hopes that his work challenges and questions purpose or meaning.
In addition to his own practice at his studio in Denbigh, North Wales, David is Reader in Contemporary Ceramics - School of Art, Design & Performance at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston.
