Anthony Wassel has been working in glass since 1974 and working from the studio at Welbeck since 2003. He studied on the Ceramics and Glass course at Birmingham Polytechnic from 1974-77 where he was taught by Bill Heaton, who had previously been a master glassmaker at Whitefriars. Bill showed Anthony a range of traditional glassmaking techniques and skills that he still uses today to create a range of glassware, traditional and contemporary, including airtwist stemware.
